Introduction

This course is one of a series dealing with environmental management topics for those wishing to establish an ISO14001 Environmental Management System, or simply improve their organization environmental performance.

Modern management thinking is moving away from the idea that industrial by-product or residuals must be treated after the event, towards a more profitable preventive approach to environmental management. The course covers some of the new approaches to modern industrial environmental management.

Course Objectives

As part of the drive to improve environmental performance and profitability, many organizations are moving towards a closed system of materials flow, aimed at preventing polluting waste, rather than treating it after it has been generated.

The aim of this course is to provide you with an introduction to the principles of pollution prevention and waste minimization.
