It is one of the general duties as prescribed under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514) for the employer to provide a safe workplace to their employees.
Hazard Identification and Assessment of Risk & Opportunities (HIARO) have become the fundamental practices of planning, operation and execution of an occupational safety & health management system as basic of its risk management.
The Risk& Opportunities assessment process should be continuous, proactive and should not be regarded as a one-off exercise. This training will provide a systematic and objective approach to assess hazards, which take into account in human factors as well as social factors. This training syllabus includes objective measure to the identified hazards.With provision of method to control the risk, good human behavior will be imposed in order to reduce accidents/non-conformities in the organization.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to know:
- The principles and practices of HIARO
- Hazard identification method and risk evaluation
- Considerations of human factors, social factors and how the work is performed are accountability elements in HIARO assessments

This course is designed for those who are tasked with the development and implementation of hazard identification, risk assessment and determine control for the organization, internal auditors, Safety & Health Practitioners as well as Green Card Holders.
